Deadline: 11/03/08

The LEAP Award recognizes emerging talent in the contemporary craft field. The award is open to exceptionally talented graduate students and under-represented emerging craft artists working in all craft media: ceramics, wood, metal/jewelry, glass, found materials, mixed media and fiber. The winning artist will receive a $3,000 cash award towards the development of a product line/body of work, which will be exclusively marketed through the SCC for a period of one year. This work will also be featured in an exhibition at SCC later in the year. Gail M. Brown, an independent curator whose focus is to enhance the visibility and education about contemporary craft within the larger visual arts community, will select the winning artist. There will be a $10 non-refundable entry fee. Deadline: November 3, 2008. For more information email gallery@contemporarycraft.org
