Category: Awards, Grants, Fellowships [View all]
Posted by: West Collection
Deadline: 10/01/08

The West Prize is awarded to 10 international emerging artists in 2008. The prize awards $100,000 in acquisitions between the finalists and hosts a finalist exhibition with a publication. A grand prize winner is chosen from among the finalists to receive $25,000 in addition to a West Collection acquisition. Applications are only accepted through www.westcollection.org. Entry is free to all applicants.

Upon submission, a profile including a brief description of
yourself, your work, and images of your work will be added to an online database which will be shared publicly. The database becomes a resource for galleries, collectors, and curators.

The West Prize and applicant database are intended to gain further exposure for all of the artists. The prize's goal is to help winning artists through the platform of the West Collection: public tours, traveling shows, loans, publications, and website. The acquisition prize money allows finalists more time time to focus on their art.
